matthias and i talked about it a lot and decided that we wanted to spend our lives together. i got him awesome engineer-ish/pretty cufflinks and asked him to marry me. then a few months later, he had rings made, and asked me to marry him too. he made rings for both of us, because he wanted to have one too so everyone would know. it's very sweet. i was surprised by his asking... he made the rings in secret. he was going to ask me on our yearly vacation to kauai but he couldn't wait and asked a few weeks before he went right after the rings were ready. it was very sweet! :-D
