I do! Vivien Send a noteboard - 05/04/2011 01:35:41 AM
So, I've been engaged for over a year now, and we haven't set a wedding date yet.

I like this, as I like being engaged. And planning a wedding sounds like an awful lot of work to me (and probably requires throwing a lot of money at it, too). I'm not really the kind of woman who's been planning her marriage since the age of 4.

I do have a vague sense that I want to throw a really cool party.

So on to the survey:

1. 'Did you ever attend a wedding? (if not, prob this survey isn't for you)

Yes, lots of times.

2. Do you like weddings?

Yeah. If nothing else, it's a big party with a lot of food where everyone gets to dress up.

3. Did you ever organize a wedding? (Was it your own?)

No and no.

4. What was the best wedding you ever went to, and why was it so good? (cue for: my own, because I love my spouse so much! real intention of question is that I want to know what made the party fun)

My cousin's wedding was the best. It was just really well done and classy. The reception was in the same building as the hall where the ceremony took place, so there were no guests that got lost on the way from the ceremony to the reception.

It was a jewish wedding (although these jews aren't kosher and the bride is as jewish as I am) and I think that helps. I think the jewish dancing is super fun and everyone is involved because you just run around in circles- nobody is left out.

I guess it was a great wedding for me because I'm related to the bride so I felt very comfortable there but I wasn't a bridesmaid so I didn't have to *do* anything and I could wear whatever I want.

Oh and I caught the bouquet thing (it was coming right for me, I had no choice), and then a really cute guy caught he garter so that was fun. I had to sit on a chair and he kneeled in front of me and put it on me.

Me: my dad's watching.
Guy: my grandma's watching.

So that was fun. I did not think that the garter thing would actually happen (it didn't at other weddings) so I was surprised.

5. What kind of wedding would you like to throw yourself (if you were to marry at some point)?

The wedding ceremony isn't what matters. I'm not the kind of person to plan out my wedding. Well if I was in a relationship that was heading towards marriage maybe I would start thinking of it but right now me marrying is so far fetched that I can't take it seriously.

6. Do you like traditional weddings, or ones that do something unique/funny?

I would say my cousin's wedding was on the traditional side, and that one was the best.
