the American system of justice can often seem disproportionately harsh, particularly, for me, in its treatment of minorities, but it certainly seems as though this is a case where a European system skews far too much in the other direction. Twenty-one years for ~80 premeditated deaths? This is a situation in which I wish I didn't understand the statistical implications of division.

I don't doubt that he's insane, because his actions were pure madness. The length of time that it took to kill all those young people on that island is indicative of a lack of moral fiber. While I'm something of a bleeding heart, I wish there were a way to extradite him to the US to face capital punishment.
