It will come in handy when I go on road trips to new places, such as my planned trip to the Gulf of Mexico and the Grand Canyon in 2012.

I didn't ask for it (I only asked for a hand mixer and an egg separator so I could make lemon meringue pie), but my dad has a GPS unit of his own and figured I should have one too. So that was a nice surprise.


GPS is awesome and only after they became commonplace could I even imagine myself driving. (That takes one worry factor out of the equation). I actually love the maps and gps feature on my phone. Thas was one of the reasons I really wanted a smartphone. I would hate getting lost and I'd have to carry diagrams of neighborhoods but now that I have my phone I don't have to worry about getting lost ever again. Driving with my sister somewhere is also less scary because although she hates even the idea of GPS she can't stop me using my smartphone.
