I think Paul is right on at least one point - no, I do not think people should have sex with someone's body whenever they want, but I do think it could be gray area on whether you have consent, especially if both people are sleepy and one doesn't realize the other isn't awake. I would like to be able to say anything with certainty, but I am not sure we can say he was entirely in his right mind and that he would have sexed her up no matter what. Joel is also partly right, that if we're going to assume innocence rather than guilt, we do have to take his position seriously. At any rate, ew, I'm tired of thinking about this guy and his sleepy sex.

I do think that if it is a one night stand in particular, then people should be very careful to make sure the other person is consenting to what they are doing or it is rape and I would say starting to have sex with them when they are asleep is very much rape regardless of consenting to an earlier sex act.
Joel has just confused the whole thing, I think, by replying to what he wants to reply to rather than the actual post I made and he seemed to be replying to (Paul is also, I think, guilty of this to an extent).
I wasn't, as I'm sure you realise, posting about the guilt or not of Assange but about the comment on rape by George Galloway, who was quite clear in his view that once a woman has consented to sex then it isn't rape to have sex with her once she is asleep.
