Doctors don't go around clubbing terminal stage IV cancer patients in the head like a baby seal either.

THe stage IV cancer patient has just as much chance of survival as that fetus. In fact there is MORE rational for the euthanasia of the cancer patient as at least they can ask to be killed, while the child can not. The death of the mother was NOT a certainty. The death of the child, while extremely likely bordering on certainty, was not a certainty. While the child and mother were alive, the moral obligation of the physicians was to do everything they could to save them BOTH.

One point of note, Ireland, with its strict no abortion law, has a lower instance of maternal death than England which allows elective abortion.

It is real simple, if you don't like the laws in Ireland, don't live there.
