1600 gun deaths and counting since Newtown massacre moondog Send a noteboard - 06/02/2013 05:40:29 PM
i know this topic has been exhaustively discussed here, but i thought this was something worth sharing as a means of putting something more concrete into the discussion.

Slate magazine has released an interactive map of all of the gun deaths in the US since the killings in Newtown. keep in mind this webpage is only linking homicides, i haven't seen any suicides in their map other than murder-suicides, but i also have not gone through all 1600+ links to test this theory. i find it interesting that since december 14th of last year, every state has had at least one gun related death except for north dakota. i guess the positive news to come out of this is that we are down from our usual average of 40-ish gun deaths per day in 2012, but the year is still fresh....
