Most of the good that has come about has been an unintended byproduct of actions to increase their own power and deliver their own message. They being the institution in this sense.

And as for World War 2, individuals may have committed great acts, but the institution did not.

But here and now they already have power in Africa for example, and they could use it for some good, but they probably wont, because they are only interested in increasing their hold, and their power.
