Off the top of my head for Catholicism, you have indulgences, annulments,"just wars," and that thing where monks considered rabbits a type of fish so they could eat them on meatless days.
Another example of "flexibility" would be teens who are taught abstinence, and then have anal sex so they can still consider themselves "virgins." (Though I admit that's not Church doctrine- it's the same kind of thinking, though)
I'm sure there are examples for other religions, as well. Isn't there a practice somewhere of "marrying" a girl for 24 hours, just so you can have sex?
