The name of Jesus is brought up when someone wants it there (to prompt taking care of the poor or for ironic purposes), but the name of Jesus is banished upon someone becoming uncomfortable....
So we, as a government, can use the name of Christ to remind society of what He taught (compassion for the poor, loving neighbors as yourself), yet we can dismiss those same teachings which society doesn't like (sin)? I've said it before, but Christianity isn't an All-you-can-eat buffet. You don't get to choose what you want, and leave the rest.
