You never know! Aemon Send a noteboard - 26/04/2013 09:31:34 PM

Astronauts have coffee and tea regularly on the ISS. Too, beverages are mostly water, so as long as you don't mind instant dissolvable stuff, coffee and beer wouldn't present much of a weight problem. They're also made from plants, so, depending on what sort of grow-house they're planning to set up, you might have all of the coffee/beer you could want.

I agree with your assessment, though. I don't think most people (including myself) could be happy living on Mars. The fact that we're even giving semi-serious consideration to the problem, though, is an indication that we're living in a pretty awesome time period.

If you could, would you move permanently to Mars? - 24/04/2013 03:30:55 AM 1687 Views
You want to go where? *NM* - 24/04/2013 06:29:07 AM 518 Views

I know. It really perplexes me that so many people are so down on it. - 24/04/2013 07:19:42 PM 1044 Views

What's the problem, technically? - 24/04/2013 07:24:22 PM 1005 Views
Basically? Mass and redundancy - 24/04/2013 10:40:30 PM 1000 Views
The mass is what I wondered about. - 24/04/2013 11:03:36 PM 967 Views
Fuel costs are linear to mass, total costs are probably less - 25/04/2013 12:20:55 AM 914 Views
To put this in perspective, adding to Issac's points - 25/04/2013 01:50:38 AM 974 Views
That's not really a fair comparison. - 25/04/2013 08:18:35 PM 997 Views

I agree with your points, but you've still only listed financial (not technical) problems. - 25/04/2013 08:22:25 PM 1022 Views
Finacial problems are technical problems - 25/04/2013 10:19:17 PM 943 Views

Anyone who would seriously consider that is desperate and/or depressed (or an astronaut). - 24/04/2013 03:00:54 PM 918 Views
I'm not depressed or desperate. Does that make me an astronaut? - 24/04/2013 07:11:14 PM 1082 Views
