The trick is that I'm having it for the third night in a row, and will have it tomorrow too. I don't mind that for good food, it's only that I'm not actually cooking it today.
Chicken cacciatore, at least as I make it, is chicken, mushrooms, and green bell peppers in a stewed tomato sauce with garlic and Italian spices, served on a bed of spaghetti. It's pretty good, even though I forgot to buy the green pepper this time. I go heavy on the mushrooms, because white mushrooms are the fungus of the gods.
