If I gave the impression that I considered RT's reply a satisfying answer to my question to TR, that was not intentional. I asked that question because his quoted number of 70% is very different from the numbers I've seen myself. As you saw in our recent discussion on illegal immigration, I'm not too lazy to go verify things for myself if I doubt them, but if the facts and figures I can find strongly contradict what the other person is claiming, then I do ask which sources they are using, to see if there might be an explanation for the disparity.
RT's reply was a more subjective kind of assertion, I'm not taking it as proof overriding eiter TR's quoted poll numbers or those I saw myself, but merely as a welcome affirmation that plenty of moderate conservatives can still see this whole thing in perspective. Which is again a subjective statement, yes, I'm aware.
