The guy I had to let go richly deserved it as well. He wasn't a bad person, but you don't work as a driver where you get in two accidents in under a week, one totalling a company vehicle.

Quite simply, not suited to the job.

I feel for you - entirely. I do hope the fellow had some warning because being terminated for one muck up seems a bit extreme unless it was REALLY egregious.
