I mean, I pointed out the thing about the fast food density because I got the impression Aisha was forgetting about that, and I think what I said about the symbolic meaning of switching to exclusively halal food is a valid point - but how one reacts to such a switch is still quite subjective. And the reasons why reactions in France are so strong are absolutely linked to the larger problems with the immigrants that they have. Which if you're feeling uncharitable you can call xenophobia, but I'd say under the circumstances it's understandable.

And yeah, France does have some circles that are ideologically anti-McDonalds. Of course, since Quick is a French imitation, they like that one lots better. ;)
