With clarification: I don't see any reason why people should have to drop their religious beliefs when they come to another country, and halal food is part of Islam. It doesn't actually hurt anyone for halal restaurants to be opened up in neighbourhoods with a high proportion of Muslims. It's also good business sense.


Yeah, my comments on this thread are less to do with the McDonalds thing (I agree, McDonalds can serve whatever they want and if they think catering to Muslims is better for their business, then that's their decision. Although I think French people also have a right to object), and more to do with the mentality that I'm seeing, that Europeans who don't want all these drastic cultural changes in their nations are crazy/foolish/old stubborn jerks/whatever, and that immigrants shouldn't have to do anything to adapt to french culture if they want to move to France, but rather, it is the natives who should always be the ones to adapt or else they're mean bigoted creeps

Seriously, how much more are these people supposed to put up with? I had a German friend email me last night in a frothing rage because he'd watched a documentary on TV (I think the documentary was British, but it can apply to any European country), asking if it was better to be mixed race. That answer was of course, yes, and that mixed race people were healthier, more attractive and more successful and that breeding with fellow Europeans was "inbreeding." Already there are substantial numbers of non-Europeans flooding Europe, reproducing faster than the natives and now they are showing propaganda on TV that outright discourages the natives from having kids with other natives? He was furious, but the other Germans he talked to refused to discuss it because "they weren't racist."

I'm a huge lover of Europe and I worry about it. What will it be like in 50 years if nothing changes?
