if the vicitim is a child they shouldn't be given a second chance random thoughts Send a noteboard - 04/03/2010 06:35:36 PM
I guess that asshole imam from Asutralia isnt the only asshole with these kinds of opinions out there. And in the wake of the Chelsea king rape and murder this really makes me sick. The article brings up a good point, when a 92 year old or a 6 month old get raped, who can you blame then? While we are on the subject of perverts, I think repeat sex offender should spend life in prison, especially if their victims were kids. Lack of manpower and budget concerns should not let the 700,000 repeat sex offenders we have in this country walk free to rape and kill innocent 17 year old girls! Something has to be done about this disgusting situation. The guy that killed Chelsea King had his ankle monitor taken off in 2008 while on parole, even though his own psychiatrist testified that he was definitely still a threat to women out there, yet he was freed and his monitoring system removed. Makes me sick.

I believe in reform and repentance, though I think long term counseling and treatment are a must, because there's invariably more to sex offenders than just violent crime (recall the story a few years ago about the Houstonian who REQUESTED chemical castration to prevent his own recidivism. )

From a Christian perspective, there are passages from both Old and New Testaments encouraging women to reflect their spiritual attitude outwardly, discouraging provocative or ostentatious dress, HOWEVER that doesn't greenlight rape. Suggesting otherwise is like saying, "that bank was asking to be robbed when it broadcast the fact it stored lots of cash. " In the abstract, I'm inclined to say it's wrong to dress like a whore; that does not mean everyone who does should be treated like one (and even whores have to give consent or it's still rape. )
