Whether or not Turkey acknowledges the alleged genocide, doesn't change the fact that those people all died. All this does is put a mark of shame on a country in which few if any of the guilty even survive.
Failing to acknowledge a crime later isn't much better than turning a blind-eye to it during, and that not much better than giving the crime an open thumbs up. I can appreciate people not wanting to have grandpa's faults rubbed in their face non-stop, genetically speaking most of us are descended from an awful lot of brutal rapists and murders, and I can also see an official response being carefully worded to avoid lawsuits seeking fiscal reparations, but you've got to own up to it. And this casual threat to boot people out specifically as a spiteful gesture just proves that the people running turkey are the sorts who should be apoligizng, not just acknowledging. This is no different then if Germany got called out for ignoring the holocaust and responded by saying 'Turns out there are a lot of jews in germany illegally, we've decided to kick them out'
All it does is prove it's not a sleeping dog at all. Just such a threat, with so obvious motivations behind it, hangs a lantern on Turkey still harboring strong anti-Armenian sentiments to the point that it's government would say something like that.
