I forgot how to do the math twenty years ago but spreading out the deceleration over say a foot instead of millimeters the peak being absorbed art any given moment is dramatically different. Now if they fell a thousand feet then no difference but a hundred feet? Maybe.

The complete disregard of mass is a bigger issue for me. I don't care how strong the Hulk is if a tank weighs 100 times as much as he dots he just punch it and send it flying, he was just go flying in the other direction. The other is the none indestructible heroes getting thrown through a wall and getting up to fight again. Walls are stronger than your ribs.
