If history of mental illness is sufficient to bar someone from the service, then that should extend to gender dysphoria, which is treated as mental illness. If it's on a case by case basis, then trans people should be admitted on a case by case basis.

I'm willing to give pretty broad deference to what actual military experts think is best, here.
