That 'feminism' is an entire package of things (the bailey) and when the truth of some propositions that feminism supports are challenged, the response is to retreat to your completely defensible definition - the motte.



Or simply don't work in practice. Certainly feminism evolved differently in Europe than the US (e.g. hurrah for maternity leave).

I reject the idea that feminism is a set package of things; it's a goal of equality; there are varying ideas of how to get there, and that gives rise to people saying they are not feminists bc they don't supports a particular means to an end
