We see the world differently.... Jeordam Send a noteboard - 18/07/2018 11:08:27 PM

And it's not because of a political stance...or a social thing. I don't characterize you as having the "Trump Derangement Syndrome" and I hope that you don't characterize me as being in a Cult. But seeing as how I don't know you, I'll take your words at face value and not read into any of it.

You start off by saying "We have several possible what's, but nothing that has yet passed the test of being proved in a court of law." Everything you said after that phrase that is conjecture is 100% besides the point. It has no value, no power, and shouldn't even be spoken of, because it is fully in the realm of Theory-building. Granted, we are on a Sci-Fi/Fantasy message board, but if I wanted to read too-complex and convoluted theories that see facts in a non-objective way, I'd read the million theories on why someone else besides Graendal killed Asmodean.

Instead, I'll stick with the facts. The Trump Jr. Meeting with the Russian lawyer offering dirt on Clinton. One set up by the lawyer, not Trump Jr. And there was no dirt. So that's much ado about nothing. Kushner wanting a way of communicating with the Russians...haven't read that anywhere, but whatever. I'm certainly not a fan of it....

Where's the smoking gun? The Muller probe has yet to indite anyone (American) on anything other than lying to them. Did I miss something else?

So promoting the story that "Russia has something on Trump" is very disingenuous. I expect that of the Dems in Congress. They are playing politics. Of someone out in the world, that's just echo-chambering yourself.

Ok, so onto your opinion of Trump. He boasted of grabbing women by the genitals. Does that make him a creep? At the time, yes. (Note: I'm not really one to say that an instance of being a creep makes you one for life). Does it make it assault? Well, did she say no? I don't remember her saying no. I'm especially naive on stuff of this nature, seeing as how I'm not a guy who is that forward at all. But I seem to remember that consent is both passive & active in nature. Consent is both saying "Yes" as well as not actively (through word or action) saying "No".

I remember him condemning the neo-Nazi's in SC. He condemned the violence on both sides. I also remember the "controversy" that he didn't say it fast enough. But then I also remember in a totally different instance when he publicly responded quickly, and he was condemned for that too.

As for his organization or businesses...that is neither here nor there to me. I see all that stuff as no more "dirty" or dishonest than the Clinton Foundation or the Obama money or the Bush Foundation. I just don't care. The campaign spent less than the Clinton one....shrug. I just don't care, probably because I haven't seen anyone say that he's doing something illegal.

All this to say, Trump is a man with many flaws. But on that same token, I am a man with many flaws. I don't expect the president to be a moral example. I don't expect the president to be perfect. I don't even expect him to get it right "most of the time." He is one branch among three.
