I'm not trying to put you down or anything, but that's what I've learned from our many exchanges.

View original postSince when does conversation have to be about making a difference or changing one's mind? Can't it be to try to find understanding and clarity? To try and understand where the other person is coming from?
Sure. But my experience in exchanges with you is that, after we've both set our thinking on the topic in question, further debate really doesn't lead anywhere. It makes absolutely no difference whether I have overwhelmingly good arguments or pretty poor ones - anything that doesn't fit with the opinions you held coming in, will be deflected or ignored.
So to be clear, I do appreciate your reply and it does interest me what your opinion is... but after the initial exchange of views, well, you've asked a question, I've answered it, and if you choose still not to see my points, well, I could rephrase and improve them ten times, I could give you plenty more examples, and still none of it would do any good. We both have better things to do with our time.
View original postYour replay here says to me that you know what I'm thinking. That you somehow know my motivation in what I'm saying. Are you God? Do you know the inner workings & motivations of my heart? What I was saying in my replay that what one person sees as a "lie" from Trump another can very reasonably see as hyperbole and showmanship. And then to add to that, it is the person who is calling it a lie who is actuality projecting their own bias onto the situation (this would be why I wouldn't go to that website).
I can only judge you by what you write here, of course. But you do absolutely strike me as a totally honest person who would own up to it if you found yourself convinced of somebody else's point, so when I see in your posts that no argument anyone makes ever seems to sway you from your existing opinions, I conclude that that's really how it is.

No, because I've had far too many entirely pointless exchanges with him.

Fair point, though a pity you limited your comments to that one line from the whole article.

How is this even about the media? It's about the credibility of governments, not the media.

It's not 'blatant anti-Trump bias' to point out he's gone above and beyond to ruin his credibility.
