He shouldn't have gotten to where he has gotten. By way of comparison, everyone calling Trump a "fascist" shows they know as little of world history about fascism as they do about communism. Even so, if Trump were a fascist, to be as bad as Bernie he would have to say things like:
"20 years ago every fascist was talking about Nazi Germany. When we talk about fascism, we're not talking about Nazi Germany. We're talking about Pinochet."
"Well, yes, I did praise Hitler, but you have to look at the autobahns he built and the way he eliminated unemployment. That meant a lot to a lot of Germans."
"All these people pointing to Nazi Germany are talking about an aberration. We all know true fascism has never been properly implemented."
"I'm not a fascist, I'm a democratic fascist."
"Democratic fascism isn't about state control of everything. It's about taking care of the People so that they can build things and achieve."
And the amount of people who still think communism is a good idea while not realizing that they are the same kind of people who think fascism is a good idea is also telling.
