Well, okay, so far I guess he's not a finisher at all, strong or otherwise.

View original postYou do realize you softened what should by all rights be harsh criticism, right? If something finishes poorly it reflects poorly on the entire process.
People can have different opinions on how harsh the criticism 'by all rights' should be. And in the case of series of books (or movies, or other types of creative work), a weaker, or in this case not-yet-existing ending reflects poorly on the series as a whole, but the individual books / works at the start may still remain very good. And I'd still rate Martin higher as a writer than other fantasy writers who did manage to finish their series without an obvious drop in quality along the way, but never produced a single book of the quality of aGoT, aCoK and aSoS.
Who has let readers down more, Robert Jordan or Georgerr Martin?

WRONG! Book 4 and 5 are Fabulous, and the prequels are more fun as individual stories

RJ not for dying, but instead for giving us books 7 to 10 (I never did 11)

If Jordan had died after Book VI and the series remained unfinished, it would have been better

Martin has definitely frustrated his fans and tested their patience far more...

Remember in 2019 he said his fans can lock him up in a cabin if Book 6 was not out by mid 2020

"Not as strong of a finisher" may be the understatement of the year

Brazil started well against Germany for the first 10 minutes of the 2014 World Cup too
