Well, okay, so far I guess he's not a finisher at all, strong or otherwise. Legolas Send a noteboard - 07/08/2021 06:20:39 PM

View original postYou do realize you softened what should by all rights be harsh criticism, right? If something finishes poorly it reflects poorly on the entire process.

People can have different opinions on how harsh the criticism 'by all rights' should be. And in the case of series of books (or movies, or other types of creative work), a weaker, or in this case not-yet-existing ending reflects poorly on the series as a whole, but the individual books / works at the start may still remain very good. And I'd still rate Martin higher as a writer than other fantasy writers who did manage to finish their series without an obvious drop in quality along the way, but never produced a single book of the quality of aGoT, aCoK and aSoS.

WRONG! Book 4 and 5 are Fabulous, and the prequels are more fun as individual stories - 02/08/2021 07:13:02 PM 278 Views

RJ not for dying, but instead for giving us books 7 to 10 (I never did 11) - 02/08/2021 07:10:33 PM 306 Views
If Jordan had died after Book VI and the series remained unfinished, it would have been better - 02/08/2021 08:02:11 PM 292 Views

I think Martin's problem is being a perfectionist. - 15/08/2021 01:01:03 PM 211 Views
