I actually do wonder now if we will have any explicitly shown "pillow friends" in the show.
Rafe Judkins is gay, he is also Mormon, an Ivy League grad, and a survivor tv show contestant (plus more ineffable level of trivia to the point of irrelevance).
I think we have to WAFO about whether we get pillow friends or not.
Keep the wonder feeling though
