View original postThose who automatically believe it was an Israeli strike are inherently anti-Semitic. Those who are neutral until there is evidence are not. It's that fucking simple.
In a context of the IDF carrying out all those strikes on the Gaza Strip, it's hardly surprising that the first assumption when a hospital gets hit is that they were the ones to hit it - friendly fire or rocket launching mishaps aren't nearly as obvious an explanation, even if they do happen. Now, to immediately assume that they did so on purpose, that's something else - but one didn't have to believe it's on purpose to be outraged by it.
In the end the outrage is about bombing an extremely densely populated area whose inhabitants are stuck there and just have to take the hits whether they side with Hamas or not - if in fact the hospital had been hit by the IDF, it would merely have been the most high-profile incident in a larger pattern, and now that we have to conclude it wasn't, that still doesn't change much about said larger pattern.
I find it interesting, but sadly not a bit surprising...

If all of that is true, and I’m not saying it isn’t, how are 500-plus 200-plus dead?

The current US intelligence estimate is 100-300 dead leaning towards the lower figure.
