I fail to see how we ended up LyLo on Day 2. That only happens in games like my first one.
We are 11, and massively upgunned, normally for a game this size, all things being normal, we would have 3 DFs, that's the norm for 12 with cop, doc, and one major or two minor roles. We're 13, and have an almost unbelievable number of roles. We've seen 4 DFs in games this size with the town having less roles, to assume we're facing only 3, while possibly, is improbable. We've also had a marked tendency to have an extra kill in play, and we'd be fools not to think the scum had one, with the SK option apparently gone, we all know for a certainty now that WF was sane and had NK proteciton, very impressive NK protection too, even if you don't believe my own RC, why give anyone that if the DFs have no extra NK? If we choose to believe we outgun them by such a massive amount then we're essentially declaring the game hopelessly unbalanced. And keep in mind we have no idea what other players have but its seems a certainty we have few if any vanillas and likely at leas tone more genuine power role left over. We can hardly be sure, but 4 with some sort of extra NK - one shot, alternate night, etc, these sort of limited NKs have tended to be accessible on night 2 and after, like yours a few games back - we would be a 7-4. If I die a townie, 6-4, two kills, 4-4 game over. Now if we're 3 sucm with an extra NK or 4 scum with no extra NK, then it goes into tomorrow 5-3 or 5-4, both of those LyLo. So, unless we seriously believe the scum are that toothless when we're this apparently over-powered.
I can hardly be sure we're LyLo, I'd put it at about 1 in 3, with us having a 50/50 of being LyLO tomorrow instead and the remainder to the outside chance we defeat a NK or the scum are toothless. Again, another reason this bussing option is simply improbable - had they know I'd been copped, sure, but that would require they knew FT was the cop or had good reason to suspect, which they could realistically only do if you were a tracker and scum and I was scum, we've never had a DF Tracker before so this may be considered unlikely, plus they'd have had no reason to be sure that FT's act was a copping and furthermore if I were scum and thought I'd been copped from that avenue I'd have been aiding them in bussing me. IF the scum were at a LyLo position or expected it tomorrow, why bus? Why not brazen ahead and try for a townie lynch? I mean, if you think I'm scum, you'd be acknowledging that they had the person with the singles hugest success rate of lynching townies and decided not to, with LyLO on hand or in site, give that player a chance to work my 'magic'. All the bussing options require a fairly impressive level of suicidal behavior to explain them.
As for ending by day 2, well, smaller game it tends to become an almost unpreventable scenario with lots of roles. One of the most common balanced 13 player games is 3 scum, 2 goons and a godfather, that drops to 9 player son day 2 and 6 on dawn 3, or 3-3, game over. Same can happen if it 9-3 and player 13 is a SK. Yuna's tower game of 10, 3 DFs and a SK, though it became a route, could have ended that same way, with 6 deaths none scum ending the game on dawn 3 with 3 scum and 1 townie remaining. This is a smaller game then many of our recent ones, and beet's first time modding, I'd like to think the games well-balanced - partially for selfish reasons, he has my abridged modding notes that cover balance, I'd like to think they work
- but we rarely make truly balanced games, a tmost they were balanced enough that individual success and screw up were the real deciding factors. Again though, if we're not LyLo now, it seems incredibly improbable we wouldn't be tomorrow, particularly since for that to be the case we'd have to either believe in a game imbalance or admit the scummer probably have a massive ace card to play to counter-balance things.
The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.
