Could you possibly expect somebody to imitate RJ's prose and style? Sanderson already warned us that he would not try to imitate RJ.

I agree that it will be one of the hard things to overcome, the fact that we will be able to tell that it was not written by RJ, but that was going to happen no matter who wrote it. You can't and shouldn't expect Sanderson to sound like RJ. You are going to get the rest of this series through someone else's eyes. RJ can't be imitated perfectly.

I for one thoroughly enjoyed the chapter and look forward to the rest of the book. While it will take some getting used to, I think Sanderson will do as good a job as can be done in the circumstances. And if I had to lose one aspect of RJ's style, it would be the excessive description of furniture and clothing. At the very least, I think we will get a book that furthers the plot at a fun pace.
