Well then we disagree. Semirhage's proficiency as a Forsaken is not foretold by her acquisition of a third name. It's foretold by her sadism even prior to the DO's release.

It alludes to her not being as impressive as the others in the eyes of the people who gave those names in the first place! In the AoL actions earned the "honorific" ... clearly other FS were seen as worse than she was.

It points to a person who needs the recognition but isn't capable of earning it. Odds are the lightside AS gave out those names, and Mierin wasn't on the list of cool kids and to prove she was a big baddie she gave herself a name. I'm certain that not every single AS that went over to the DO was given a scorn name, only the worst of the worst.


There is absolutely no proof of that. What's more likely is that Mierin was the only one who took the trouble to take a name for herself, and while they were gradually making names for the fallen Aes Sedai, they realized she already had a nasty name for herself and it stuck. Once again, you can't claim that Lanfear was not one of the highest of the Forsaken or unworthy of anything. RJ himself said she was.

I'm saying she's a weak character/villain. RJ made more mistakes with her IMO than with many of the others.

Again, she had to claim it as hers ... which is as empty a claim as LTT being styled "The Lord of the Morning" ... especially since she's not even the best!


Only Moghedien and RJ know that she's not the best. She does have a Talent, and she did use it well. According to the BWB, Lanfear was a very powerful ally to the DO and not only because of her close association to LTT.

Do enlighten me ... where in the text do we see Lanfear accomplish anything? She's a glorified stalker from tGH-tFoH!!


Which is more than the other Forsaken can claim. They are constantly frustrated that they don't know where Rand is. Lanfear's plot was to kill every other Forsaken and rule with Rand. She helps Rand most of the time. However, she's as evil and twisted as they come, with a delusion that he'll tag along. To realise her dream she caused a lot of trouble.

So you don't think the Seanchan Empire in chaos is an accomplishment? Or Taim in the BT (one of the FS is behind that), or the BA accounting for nearly 1/4 of all AS?


Well I don't know, is Seanchan relevant? Tuon has declared herself Empress so for all intents and purposes the High Blood has a new home on the mainland.

But you confuse Graendal and Semirhage's true strength! Others aspire to be as manipulative as Graendal or as cruel as Semrihage and fall short. Every single one of the Chosen uses TAR for whatever purpose they need and not a single one of them has ever said "you make me wish I was Lanfear" ... the thing is Lanfear's defining characteristic was being obsessed with LTT. Sure Demandred and Sammael had their versions of that same thing, but neither of them allowed it to consume everything else they were doing to pursue it.


Aran'gar can barely use TAR. It's obviously not true that they all do whatever they want there.

Dude, Moghedien extinguished the lamps. Myrddraal travel in shadows. When Moghedien realized that Graendal wasn't going to bow to the Nae'blis, she summoned SH but giving him a passage into Graendal's lair. Graendal interpreted it as an attack, but the other two just stood there.
