I think that the Damodred/Demandred was a coincidence, and no more important than Lan/Lanfear or Be'lal/Bael.
I don't think Deman-dred, Damo-dred is a coincidence so much as a private joke from Jordan. We would understand the connection if we understood the meaning of the word "dred". Right now we can only guess the joke is about Laman/Barthanes more than it is about Moiraine... though maybe not: in the early series, Moiraine was damned sure she knew better than Rand what he had to do, and he should follow her leadership in everything. The joke may refer to that.
Lan/Lanfear is a coincidence, in the sense that I don't think there's an OT meaning involved. I'm pretty convinced La or Lan isn't a complete word for Daughter but a prefix/suffix/root, an abbreviated form in compounded words. So there's probably not relation between Lan in Lanfear and Lan as a complete word. Lan's name may very well be the contraction formed over time of another word too.
Lan wouldn't be the only one with a messed up name, though. We have a proven "Perrin daughter of Bara" already!
