The bore isn't in any one spot, or "gateway" as you call it. There is a thinness in one spot. The only reason he can sense the bore there is because that's where it's thin. Not because that's where the bore is located.
He brought up the very quote that contradicted his own interpretation (and which unsurprisingly fits Jordan's own Q&A answer).
I'll leave it at thate now, as Etzel is clearly wrong and the quotes are clear enough to make this debate pointless.
