Re: Mierin thought they had found a new source of power, not of THE power. scooter Send a noteboard - 30/06/2010 03:18:32 AM
This would mean the Bore was driven through the True Source. I don't remember right now, but doesn't the short story of the moments before the Bore was drilled show 'Meiran' thinking that they found a new source of the power, beyond the One Power? Perhaps this fits if I remember that correctly. I'm typing as I think here...

You are correct, but Mierin thought that the power sensed in the prison was a new power that both men and women could use. Unlike the opposite properties of Saidar and Saidin where men and women weave completely differently, she believed the new power would be woven the same way by men and women, allowing them to do new marvels when they worked together.

I corrected my original post to clear up that I didn't mean 'The' power, just 'a' power. But regardless, this doesn't invalidate my idea. I've actually been thinking about it since my original post and my idea has sort of evolved, but only further along the same path.

I still think it's possible/probable that some team of Rand led channelers will seal the bore using saidin and saidar together and making the 'patch' itself out of saidin and saidar alone.

It's also occurred to me that if the True Source is the prison, being the force that drives the WoT and so, at least in my mind, surrounding it and sealing it away from the DO, the 'thinness' has to have been caused simply by people channeling to begin with...using up the stuff of the DO's prison.

This would also dovetail nicely as a great excuse for (positive side effect of?) no more channeling after the LB (as so many people have theorized), to keep the DO's prison whole.

This is a really good topic! A good bit of this idea came to me as I was reading the Tel'aran'rhiod based ideas that have jumped around. This is sort of the same general concept, just not with Tel'aran'rhiod.

How can Rand repair the bore? More importantly, what forms the boundary of the Wheel itself? - 25/06/2010 01:00:35 AM 1705 Views
