I thought the two dots weren't in the WoT symbols, but sheer force of habit had me include them. Still, I wonder if the DO is somehow "wrapped around" saidin and saidar, and if that plays a part in everything.

the Tao and the Aes Sedai symbol.
There is no line, nor dots of the opposite colour in Jordan's symbol.
There is no need for the line, as his two halves cannot mix. A line surrounding the symbol would make this a symbol for Creation and suggest there's something outside, but Jordan doesn't have this line. The symbol specifically excludes any reference to the DO (which the AS didn't even know about before the Bore).
The dots in the tao are linked to harmony/balance of the opposites, they aren't relevant to Jordan's symbolism. It's the two halves as a whole that create this harmony, it doesn't come from a minor saidin/male aspect in the saidar/female aspect and vice-versa.
Jordan also inverted the colours, black for male and white for female.
It doesn't mean the DO and the Creator aren't complementary and opposed, but the Aes Sedai symbol doesn't represent that. It couldn't - the DO is trying to destroy/corrupt Creation, it's nothing like the relationship of saidin to saidar.

How can Rand repair the bore? More importantly, what forms the boundary of the Wheel itself?
