I think Brandon hinted that there is a way to defeat the Rod itself, not the whole Aes Sedai process around taking the Oath.
For some months now I have the following theory:
- to swear the Oath again, the Aes Sedai are un-swearing them;
- since Mesaana didn't swear any Oath, we actually don't know what happens when you are un-swearing them while never swearing in the first place;
- my theory is that such process creates a Oath-negative effect for the channeler, and when the channeler actually swears the Oath, its effect is cancelled by the Oath-negative effect;
- this may actually be tied to the physics of the Rod and so Brandon's words hold true.

I'm not sure it would work though. Unless she knew specifically how to word her pretend unbinding to set up a negative Oath effect.

That isn't tricking the oath rod, the way I'm understanding his answer. That's tricking humans *NM*

As mentioned above, your theory is not about defeating Oath Rod.

Perhaps she pressed, and held the on/off switch, so that the Oaths never triggered? *NM*

Or she didn't swear on it, because she's a servant.

I doubt Mesaana stands high enough to have TP access right now. She's probably the lowest FS. *NM*

Yeah I realize what I presented was kinda the opposite of what I was going for.
