Can't remember if the oath taker is the one who channels or the another person is but:

Is it possible that someone that is shielded is protected from the oaths? The oaths are tied through Spirit to the channeler if they are shielded, that tie to spirit is blocked, but they of course don't test the connection, just make them try to lie. Random thought sprung to mind.

This of course is negated if the oath taker is the one that channels. Gotta look back and see.
