she obviously had to have held it (or else he is lying to us to completely mislead us), so how did she defeat it?
the oath rod works when it is channeled into and the person holding it swears an oath. so could she pretend to be channeling into it? could she have had her fingers crossed? could she have found a way to divert the bonds from her own skin (ie, instead of letting the oaths fir onto her, she diverted it to something inanimate, a chair maybe)?
