So what would happen if you used a TP weave of spirit to touch the oath rod. Would the fact thats its spirit mean that it would work despite being TP. Would it do nothing? Or would it somehow corrupt the OR and cause it to malfunction.


I would assume that, like all other ter'angreal, it was made to work with the One Power, and would not work with the True Power. (excluding Callandor?) I don't think it would corrupt the OR or make it malfunction, but like many things of the power we have seen misused, it might just melt.

As a hypothetical it is interesting, but if Mesaana had channeled the True Power into the OR instead of OP, the other sisters wouldn't have felt anything and that would have been suspicious enough. (As I read it, the original oath swearing when you gain the shawl was channeled by the Amyrlin. The re-swearing under Egwene's tenure was channeled by the individual swearing.)
