And we will, of course, all be expected to be impressed by how awesome she is for saving the world while ALSO managing to make things turn out especially favorable for her and her faction. I mean, she accomplished the ultimate good like all heroes should, but she also made sure that all the other good guys who are desperately trying to save the world know that she's a force to be reckoned with! None of them will ever underestimate her again, and she came out on top of them all at the end! What a heroic, brilliant, tenacious, strong character! And she's female! OMG, too much! OMG, it's full on, and it's starting to look like a triple rainbow! Oh, if only we all could be strong woman like Egwene instead of sitting there knitting sweaters and waiting for our husbands to come home.

Now that I've gotten that out of my system, I must say that I still hold out hope that Elayne won't be Egwene's puppet. The point was made earlier how Morgase was essentially a puppet for the Tower, but Elayne wasn't shaping up to be like her, so there's still hope. I certainly have my criticism's of Elayne's character, but I also think that she has it in her to stand up to Egghead the Terrible. I guess we'll see...
