the only way i can see anything changing for the future would be if Avienda could be present at the time the pact is entered. Could the timing work? She is the only person who would put two and two together and maybe help avoid this bleak future.


If DomA is right and the future Avi saw was pre VoG, when Rand was the Dark Rand, then it's possible that new Rand, the Light Rand, could pass alone some Light genes to his Aiel kids. After all, his kids were the ones that started all this dark future in the first place.



If the Seanchan bugger off back to Seanchan, the Andorans march back to Andor and the Aiel lope back to the Waste, then all will be right with the world.

Why this burning crusade to create a kind of United Nations of Randland? Just let each group rule themselves, and mankind will be in the state it is meant to be.


Don't get me wrong. I love the idea sending Seanchan packing as much as the next guy. I hoped, when reading tGS, that Rand would balefire Ebou Dar. Unfortunately, that didn't happen and we need to deal with them.

It strikes me as odd that behaviour of Rand's kids matches his Dark Rand persona, in terms of do-as-I-say-rest-be-doomed approach. Also, it strikes me as odd that when kids were mentioned, no Aviendha and no Elayne around. And not Egwene and no Nynaeve. I would think Aunt Nynaeve could've spanked them for their stupidity, and Egwene would have a big influence on the Wise Ones. But nothing of that has happened.

For me, it means the Dark Rand did not survive the Last Battle and it was very costly in terms of channelers head count. All our Supergirls did not survive and leftovers picked up their places.

Granted, the Light Rand does not guarantee that it would be much better, but we may have hope that it would.
