Thulin (sp? - the blacksmith; sorry, I listened to the prologue instead of reading it) is my new favorite character in the series. He decides that the end is coming and everyone is needed to fight at the last battle. So, what does he do? Pull his braid? Sniff? Read 10 different translations of ancient prophecy? Get in a pissing match with other blacksmiths?

Nope, he saddles up and heads TOWARD the last battle bringing provisions to take care of himself and his family. Finally, a character who just does what need to be done without whining about duty being heavier than a mountain.
