Am I the only only who thinks Shara will attack the Westlands?
No, I feel like this could happen too, but I hope that RJ/Sanderson do not portray Sharans in as Orientalist terms as Tolkien did for the various human armies fighting for Sauron.
"My rule is secure." "I gather for war. We will be ready." This could mean as AgentOrange suggests that he is gathering the Asha'man, but all evidence points to Taim serving Moridin more or less directly. All the red and black, his arrogance, his manipulation. Furthermore, Demandred seemed unfamiliar with the Asha'man when he was surprised by them at the cleansing.
My guess is that Taim will be the chief dreadlord, that he will command the armies of male channelers against Logain who will command them for Rand. Demandred will need to amass a greater army than Murandy can produce to make much difference alongside the trolloc hordes, which does make Shara an option.
Moreover, the fact that he answers first with "my rule is secure" suggests to me that this was in question. Roedran was, it's true, engaged in consolidating power through using the Band, but this happened some time ago. Securing Shara, on the other hand, would be a huge variable after the chaos that we know of. Shara is also such a powerful and complex state, with much more elaborate and pervasive state/power apparatuses than those in the Westlands, that Demandred would have a better chance of using them in a concerted fashion.
Another option is that he has consolidated power in Seanchan... in some ways this is even more reasonable. As a male channeler, how would Demandred have established control over the Ayyad? However, we know that Semi and Demi have an alliance and have worked together. We know (believe) that Semi executed the Imperial Seanchan family and tried to off Tuon as well. Was this merely to throw the Seanchan into disarray, or was it to take over this military machine (already attacking the Westlands)? Suroth was to become Empress, but maybe Demandred was to lead the rest of the Seanchan armies (those remaining in the Seanchan continent) to fight in the interest of the Shadow.
Of course, it could be all 3, that Roedran IS Demandred and that Murandy will act as a staging ground, and that through Travelling, Murandy will suddenly see the full might of Shara and Seanchan launched against Andor. There are clear signs pointing to Caemlyn as an important site in the Last Battle, and Demandred has been seen in the area (spying on Elayne). We also know that Barid had a thing for Ilyena and Elayne is certainly her most obvious contemporary counterpart. It would also put the Borderlander armies in excellent (and finally relevant) position. IIRC they are somewhere south of Caemlyn now, putting them between Murandy and the capital of Andor.
