Probably stupid, but she appeared dressed all in White? We know she's in the Tower? She wouldn't possibly have hid as a Novice? Putting herself at the lowest rung in the Tower, yes, but it would also be much easier than concocting a messy backstory, kidnapping and posing as an Aes Sedai, and keeping up appearances. Plus easier to skulk around unnoticed as a Novice rather than a fully-fledged Aes Sedai.


A novice in the Tower wouldn't have the freedom needed to be a Forsaken in disguise, in my opinion. Novices in the tower are closely watched not only by Aes Sedai, but Accepted as well. Their schedules are pretty full, and they typically have little free time. I really don't think Mesaana would sit through novice classes either, and the amount of compulsion needed to skip out on classes, discipline, and keep well under the radar would be way past easy to conceal. I believe a full Aes Sedai with no friends would be the perfect balance between all the free time she wants, no discipline, and little enough compulsion she could get away with. I'm thinking Danelle (Most likely) or Norine (less likely, in my opinion).


Mesaana usually runs around the Tower in a brown dress. Aes Sedai can wear any colour they wish, but they usually wear the colour of their own ajah. Graendal's comment that Mesaana is a true scholar implies that she might be White ajah - perhaps one of the Whites who was holding the shield on Egwene.
