My impression for the prologue was that they've thinned their numbers, and are ready to get down to business. Particularly Moridin. That was my impression.
I think a theme is entering where it's no longer grand and awesome to be a supervillain in this series i.e. maniacal laughter, living on legend, god-like skills. RJ/BS is starting to demonstrate the full price of choosing the Shadow - mind-traps, severe punishment for negligence, abuse by the Nae'blis.
Of the Forsaken who remain, some of them have the most questionable loyalty. Demandred, who's only in it for Lews Therin and jumped ship before. Aran'gar, who only wants immortality and will discover exactly how unpleasant that term can be. Mesaana, who has discovered that she can no longer play around like she did in the 2nd age. Cyndane and Moghedien have lost everything and are basically drones for the Nae'blis. Only Graendal and Semirhage remain completely loyal to the Shadow, and one is captured and the other is being sent to face the DR, which always ends so well for the Shadow.

The prologue gives us strong evidence that Graendal is weaker than Demi or Semi
