Sieran's choice seems much more logical as she appears to have chosen the Grey for reasons related to ambition rather than functional duty. this is a woman who wanted political power and saw the path to that through the Grey,

Influence, sure, but power?

The Gray's are diplomats. Sure they rub shoulders with rulers and nobles all the time... But so can pretty much any Aes Sedai who wants to. As far as obtaining personal political power in or outside the Tower... They are basically identical to every other Ajah.

The Red hasn't had an Amyrlin since Bonwhin more than 1,000 years ago. Any woman who even remotely considered seeking a path to the Seat would look outside of the Red for a place for themselves that wouldn't nearly automatically block her ability to rise. Couple that with the fact that the majority of Amyrlins put members of their own (previous) Ajah into the key administrative roles such as MoN and KoC and you see how quickly paths to power for a Red are much more restricted than other Ajah.

Domani Drag Queen in the White Tower ... Aran'gar watch out!

I think it's RJ's gender commentary - Blue are ambitious, which is not a stereotypical female trait - 19/10/2016 02:57:51 AM 1055 Views
