Rand is ta'veren. He is tightly connected to the wheel. The wheel controls the actions of ta'veren. Rand's actions are what the pattern wants/needs to take place.

Nope. He can and does go against the Wheel. There is no way the Wheel wanted him to use the True Power, for example.


Did the wheel not want him to escape?
Did he in fact escape?


In this book, with the Darkness in Rand, his ta'veren nature itself was unbalanced. The land is one with the Dragon and all that.

So please don't tell me whatever he does, he is right. That is just not so.


Whatever he does is guided by the pattern.
