I agree with you, but I think that what the OP had in mind when he said "the Aes Sedai" was the Tower or the Ajahs (organizational units of the Aes Sedai), not individual Aes Sedai.
He is welcome to clarify, though.
If that is the case why did he disagree that the Aiel and the Ashaman were even more ineffective (using his own criteria)
