And even if a named character doesn't appear in the series, the character is still named. But you can hardly believe that RJ named all thousands and thousands damane, Ayyad & other channelers, who never appear.

It's still impressive and rare if there are maybe a dozen or two dozen female channelers in the whole world, who are stronger than Nynaeve or as strong as she is. Of course, only RJ or BS could tell, how many such strong female channelers are there in the whole WoT world.
