The Shadow kind of has a big trump card Sandwich Send a noteboard - 01/12/2009 04:30:38 PM
I hear you and understand what you mean about not using more things like Sammael or thirteen myrddral or whatever, but the DO is a pretty convincing threat. Basically it seems like if he's freed, everybody and everything is toast. Rand is the only possible thing that can beat him. If he fails, pufff... and none of the minor baddies ever mattered.

Really though, when I think about it, how could any human stand against a supreme being who is powerful enough to stop the wheel of time and vaporize the pattern? Even if the hero had the Choedan Kal? Oops! Scratch the the Choedan Kal. When I think about it, Rand seems as insignificant as the Forsaken. We know the DO won't win or the whole series will be a wash, but the threat is pretty palpable and as of now, until we see how things unfold, it appears the good guys are headed for a loss. "How do I work this stupid glass sword!"
